OUR MISSION

To provide a home for persons living with HIV/AIDS, sharing mercy, hope, dignity and peace. Consistent with the Christian perspective of caring for those in need regardless of ethnicity, creed, gender or sexual orientation. We provide a home-like setting promoting physical, emotional, social and spiritual quality of life for persons living with HIV with the goal of enabling those who can to return to independent living.

House of Hesed is committed to affirming the value of each person who resides with us and educating the community about HIV/AIDS to help dispel stigma and fear towards persons living with HIV, replacing it with a spirit of compassion.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

As a Christ-centred ministry, we follow the biblical foundation of supporting people with compassion, integrity and dependence on Him. In all we do, we seek to glorify Jesus Christ, the One who is full of grace and truth.

“…And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth”
John 1:14

Founded upon biblical principles, House of Hesed adheres to the following beliefs:

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the inspired Word of God, the final authority for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in right living.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” 2 Timothy 3:16

We believe in one God, the triune Godhead, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” Matthew 28:19

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, fully man and fully God, only begotten Son of the Father. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and lived a sinless life. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, buried and rose physically from the dead. He ascended to the right hand of the Father and will come again in power and glory.

“And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee…” Luke 1:35

We believe that faith in Jesus Christ alone, as Savior and Lord, frees us from the bondage of sin and its consequences of spiritual death and eternal damnation. He assumed the penalty of death himself, and enables us to live out of His resurrected life unto eternity.

“But he was wounded for our transgressions…” Isaiah 53:5

We believe the Holy Spirit carries out this work of renewal in our lives, empowering us to grow in loving union with our Heavenly Father and to walk in obedience to His will.

“Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” 2 Corinthians 3:17

We believe that the church of Jesus Christ is formed of all those who know Him as their Saviour and Lord, regardless of denominational beliefs.

“For as we have many members in one body…” Romans 12:4–5
