History of Dinner Theatre

The House of Hesed Dinner Theatre was started in 2008 by David Turnbull and his mother, Denyse, with a goal in mind to raise as much funds and awareness as they could for the House of Hesed.  After exceeding their goal by almost 50% the first year, the HoH Dinner Theatre began to grow, adding more shows and figuring out different ways to offset their costs in order to raise as much as they could for this wonderful cause.

Eleven years later, everyone involved is extremely proud to say that we have raised over $400,000 for the House of Hesed over the years.

Rehearsing takes place once a week (sometimes twice!) from January to April and everyone in the cast donates a countless amount of their time and energy to this production.  There are many long nights and this group deserves a ton of recognition for the completely voluntary work that they put into making sure the show is a success.  On top of that, the behind-the-scenes crew goes above and beyond what they’re asked for, helping in all aspects of set construction, kitchen, and meal preparation, as well as in many other areas.
